Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the HIM Supervisor, the Administrative Support III-Registration, Switchboard, & Patient Information (RSPI Clerk) is responsible for Patient Registration, Switchboard, Finance, & Health Record functions. The RSPI Clerk maintains the integrity of the health record through filing, adding late reports to the patient's records, photocopying, & retrieving confidential patient records; responds to telephone requests for access & disclosure in accordance with department, zone & legislative requirements. Interviewing & Registration of patients utilizing health care information system (Meditech) to include the collection/verification of patient's demographic information as well as validating insurance, financial information, completion of WCB forms, & other necessary forms. This process includes reception, application of identification wristbands on patients, providing wayfinding, creating unique life time identifiers for non-residents of Alberta & other clerical duties to support the registration process. Scheduling specialty clinics, reminder calls to patients. Provides reception services, operating the switchboard & directing calls or taking messages as appropriate, opening & closing the office, wayfinding, greeting clients & families. Monitors security cameras if applicable & code phones/alerts as required in the site. Provides information to internal & external care providers on request. Performs financial duties such as receiving payments on accounts, providing safekeeping, & where applicable assisting residents with trust accounts. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Medical Terminology. Experience in Patient Registration, Financial Records, and/or Telecommunication. Fluent in written and spoken English language. Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills of 40 - 50 wpm required.

Preferred Qualifications:
MOA and/or Unit Clerk Course.
