Job Description:

• Maintain and update employee data, including attendance, leave, and overtime records, for the computation of salaries and benefits in both Canadian and other currencies, utilizing our payroll software.
• Generate and validate earnings statements for employees, detailing gross and net salaries, and deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments, insurance, and pension plans.
• Process all payroll-related payments, covering regular pay, benefits, and special payments like bonuses, commissions and vacation pay.
• Complete, verify, and process forms and paperwork related to benefits administration, such as parental, maternity leaves.
• Handle payroll-related filings and supporting documentation, including year-end tax statements, pension documents, Records of Employment, and other relevant statements.
• Offer information on payroll matters, benefit plans, and employment agreement provisions to employees.
• Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts.
• Prepare and reconcile period-end reports.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.
• Contribute to the development or implementation of payroll policies, procedures, or processes.
• Process full year-end cycle including 3rd party reporting, T4’s, T2200’s, etc.
• Perform other related tasks related to personnel administration, including supporting hiring and dismissal processes, answer to employee enquiries.
Necessary Skills/Qualifications:

• Education: High school or equivalent with experience. Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Payroll Administrator in Canada.
• Experience with Payworks Suite (Payroll, HR, Absence Mgmt. Modules)
• Experience processing payroll year-end, T4s, and T2200s.
• Knowledge of Employment standards of BC and ON.
• Experience in processing foreign payments to foreign employees and contractors.
• Knowledge of Brazilian Employment Law and Payroll (admissions, terminations, etc.) is an asset.
• Ability to speak English.
• Ability to exercise extreme discretion and confidentiality to maintain the integrity of the department at all times.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (Macros) and data analysis (people analytics).
• Experience with Google Workspace
• CPHR Membership is an asset.
