Terms and conditions of employment: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours/week, increase to 44 hours/week during busy season from approximately mid-May to mid-June, Occasional overtime)

Salary: $43.00/hour, annual salary increase based on inflation and performance, and potential bonuses per company policy

Requirements

Language: English

Education: Secondary school or equivalent

Credentials: Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification, Red Seal (or ability to obtain)

Experience: 5 years of related experience

Area of specialization: German vehicles (Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, MINI, Porsche and Volkswagen), manual transmission vehicles

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye coordination, Manual dexterity, Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg/50 lbs)

Work site: Workshop, noisy

Own tools:
• Steel-toed safety boots
• Basic mechanic’s tool set (imperial and metric wrenches and sockets, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, impact wrenches, torque wrenches, and other tools required to service generic automobile brands)
• Manufacturer-specific tools supplied by company

Other: Must be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to commencing employment

Duties:
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other vehicle problems including evaluation of on-board diagnostic system data
• Perform major repairs, rebuilding, and component replacement on vehicle mechanical, electrical and electronic, engine, transmission, axle, steering, suspension, brake, heating, and air conditioning systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance including oil change, chassis lubrication, tune-up, brake re-line, and alignment
• Road tests vehicles to assist in diagnosis and to verify rectification of problems
• Maintains own work area including periodic maintenance of tools and shop equipment
