Zellens has been in the business for over 50 years. It’s located in Hamilton, Ontario. We specialize in car repair including collision repair; automotive painting including paintless dent repair; mechanical repair and car body repair.

Job Summary:

A team player working together to ensure exceptional quality. Automotive painters will be responsible for the finishing of parts and application of primer and paint. In addition to prep production wings and body panels, blending in highs and lows on part surface and fixing up abused corners with body fillers.

Duties and responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

• Understand how to mix primer and paint through a computerized mixing/measuring system;
• Sand, grind body surfaces to be repaired;
• Experience in removing badly damaged sections of body panels and weld and adhesive bond new section in to replace them;
• Refinish repaired surface, using paint spray guns
• Masking surfaces in preparation of painting,
• Application of rust proofing and other sprays when applicable;
• Apply coatings to composite components using various spray methods
• Prepare components for coatings using various preparation methods
• Maintain paint spray tools including the spray facility
• Mix and spray coatings
• Follow all established safety procedures
• Mask appropriate areas as required
• Inspect components during processing stages
• Application of primers, masking and repainting automotive surfaces in accordance with factory and dealership specifications
• Polish painted surfaces
• Maintain a clean work space and tools


• Two (2+) years’ experience in auto body painting and finishing;
• Completion of secondary school;
• Ability to work in minimal supervision;
• Current knowledge of the changes in plastics, electronics, metals, finishes and vehicle systems;
• Ability to distinguish colours
• Ability to do quick colour changeovers
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Frequent standing, bending, twisting, crouching and lifting
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines and work in a fast paced environment;

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
