About us
Geek Education (Geekedu) was founded in 2015 by a group of like-minded geeks working as software engineers at Google and Amazon. We wanted to share our passion for Computer Science and Mathematics to inspire kids to learn and grow. We developed this into our “Geek philosophy” that learning to code should be accessible and affordable for every child and teenager.
Since 2016, over 100,000 students have completed our structured course sequence. Over 97% of our students have continued their Computer Science and Mathematics education at a post-secondary institution. We are partnered with over 120 schools and organizations in North America to supplement the standard school curriculum. About this opportunity
We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled Math Tutors who can help continue our tradition of excellence in education. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Mathematics and a passion for teaching. The details for the role would be as follows:
Job position: Math Tutor

Working location: Remote/2633 Viking Way, Suite 208, Richmond, BC V6V 3B6
Term and type: Permanent; Full-time position
Salary: $25 per hour
Working hours: 35-40 hours per week
Language: English
Job duties:
• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students from Grades K-12 in Math subjects.
• Assess student progress and provide regular feedback.
• Preparing our students for mathematics contests, such as the CEMC contest.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
• Collaborate with other tutors and staff to enhance curriculum and student experience.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training.
• Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
• At least a diploma in mathematics or related fields; Higher education in mathematics-related field is a strong asset.
• Minimum 1-year experience in teaching or tutoring Mathematics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms and technologies
• A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
