The Department of Family Medicine at Queen’s University invites applications for family physicians to join the Queen’s Family Health Organization (FHO). Clinical responsibilities will be based within the Queen’s Family Health Team (QFHT). This role and the successful incumbent’s time will be heavily focused on clinical service in the field of family medicine.

We are seeking innovative people to help shape our department, and we are looking for physician educators with unique clinical experiences or who have a special interest in medical education or family medicine research.

We are an award-winning Family Medicine Residency Program: two-time winner of the PARO Residency Program Excellence Award.

As a family physician, you will play a crucial role in providing patient care and education to learners, shaping the future of family medicine.

The successful incumbent will be expected to:
• Manage a roster of patients.
• Provide after-hours care and on-call support approximately 1 to 2 nights per month and 2 to 4 weekends/year, as necessary.
• Mentor, supervise, and assess medical residents and students.
• Participate in a variety of educational activities.
• Engage in faculty development sessions and continuing medical education.
• Build relationships with undergraduate medical learners as preceptors, teachers in large and small group settings, within learner wellness and careers. In addition, there are a lot of opportunities for educational leadership.
• Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives.
• Join in the academic and administrative life of the department, PG Program and MD program, and University.

Qualified applicants will hold an MD degree. Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, on or before the appointment start date and preference will be given to applicants who have current, valid certification in family medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or equivalent.
