Financial Manager

Growing and currently looking for an exceptional individual to join our team in the role of a Financial Manager. The successful candidate must demonstrate very strong communication skills, high attention to detail, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage overall financial operations of the firm
• Prepare monthly accounts, financial statements and financial reports
• Oversee budget and analyze variances to budget for monthly reports
• Monitor and report to management regarding annual budgets, debt, personnel costs and other expenses
• Enforce internal financial control and ensure consistency with accounting standards
• Develop and update financial policies and strategies to maximize profits and minimize financial risks
• Conduct financial analysis and report on monthly fee earner information and performance
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations with regards to the running of a law firm trust account
• Oversee timely tax return filings

Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce or a related field
• MBA degree would be an asset
• At least 3 years as Financial Manager or similar role, preferably within a law firm or professional services firm
• High proficiency in English
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Positive professional attitude
• Ability to work to tight deadlines

Compensation and Conditions:
• $51.50 per hour for 35-hour work week (overtime pay will apply after 44 hours of work per week, if applicable)
• Permanent, full-time position
• Location of work: 300 Supertest Road, Unit 1, Toronto, ON M3J 2M2
