Assembly Coordinator - R&D Ballistic Projects is primarily responsible for providing high level executive assistance, project management support and administrative support for the company’s R&D Ballistic Projects. This individual will supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers within R&D Ballistic Projects and focus on producing the highest quality armored and non-armored products in the niche industry providing industry-leading service. This position is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in production by performing a variety of tasks such as, preparing work assignments, preparing equipment for production, ensuring production deadlines, applying company policies and procedures. This role will also provide regular reports on the projects progress directly to the Engineering Research & Development Director.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule activities of workers, adjust production staffing and capacity to effectively meet production deadlines and ensure compliance with daily schedule metrics;
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments;
- Plan, schedule and manage equipment, workers, and raw materials so that all production deadlines are met;
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies;
- Provide general administrative duties, project support, special events and activities as requested;
- Evaluate component sizes, weights, tolerances and characteristics;
- Identify problems, coordinate, and facilitate meetings with appropriate groups and implement solutions;
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality;
- Develop knowledge of products, ballistic processes, equipment, and quality standards to develop/update standard work procedures;
- Prepare R&D projects documentation and reports, as required;
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by incorporating the required procedures in all jobs and tasks. Ensure that company policies, required regulations are followed by overseeing safety of operations, and training staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies;
- Perform other specific duties as directed.

- Post-secondary education in engineering, sciences, business or other related discipline is required;
- Minimum three (3) years of experience a manufacturing environment, preferably in armored vehicle manufacturing;
- Working experience identifying, scheduling and evaluating vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair which includes related record keeping;
- Knowledge of armored/non-armored vehicle maintenance and repair procedures;
- Ability to recognize armored/non-armored vehicle performance problems and arrange for corrective action;
- Ability to analyze records, assess current needs and project future armored/non-armored vehicle and equipment needs;
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Solidworks; computer literacy, including MS Word, and Excel;
- Ability to successfully engage and interact with all levels of workers in a multicultural environment;
- Attention to detail; tight deadlines, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
- Adept to change and constant improvement;
- Experience and knowledge of the applicable safety standards with respect to automated equipment.
