We are currently seeking a full-time Shipper for our Delta office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a personality that aligns with the Varsteel culture. Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to multitask are essential. The successful candidate should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities of this role are:
• Coordinate the scheduling of outbound trucks.
• Identify cost-effective and efficient shipping methods.
• Oversee dispatch operations for company trucks.
• Act as a liaison between the sales team and the warehouse.
• Prepare shipping documentation for drivers.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with customers, visitors, and suppliers.
• Inspect incoming goods for accuracy and damage.
• Provide support to the receiving department as needed.
• Direct trucks to appropriate shipping doors or designated marshalling areas.
Salary:
$60,000 - $70,000 annually - dependent on experience.
$500.00 signing bonus to be received upon successfully completing 5 months of employment
Experience within the steel industry is not necessary but would be a great asset.
