We are a national supplier of tool, equipment and safety product lines for the Canadian and US markets. Our range of products include: abrasives, air tools, hand tools, material handling, lifting equipment and safety apparel and products. Our USA headquartered is in Elgin, Illinois, the Canadian location is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada with six branch offices located in the major cities across Canada.
We are currently looking for an Assistant Product Manager within our Coquitlam location. The Assistant Product Manager is to support the Product Managers in improving existing product marketing campaigns or developing new products fit for the company. The Assistant Product Manager will work under the supervision of a Product Manager.
This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Product Management -for Tool, Equipment and PPE Brands, Global.
Assist in the development and implementation of strategies that grow profit and volume based on category direction, new product development, entry into new market segments, pricing, merchandising and distribution strategies
Work in conjunction with the Marketing team to determine placement, product introduction and promotion strategy.
Develop clear product “core” messaging and provide clear value distinction in the market place
Assist in developing the product specifications, packaging ideas and technical information for the Graphics department
Assist in the development of field training programs and presentations for the new products introduced and rolling out these training programs by conducting training sessions with all relevant staff and customers;
Maintenance of Product Crossover file
Fielding troubleshooting calls from users and distributors
Support trade shows and other company-sponsored events as required
Other duties and projects will be assigned as required
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to build strong relationships
Ability to understand, work with and relay technical product specifications
Highly organized and detail oriented
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving ability
Strong computer skills with an emphasis on MS Office – particularly Excel, Word, and Power point
Works well in a fast-paced and changing environment
Creative and progressive
Three years in a similar or complementary position is required
