Markham Laidlaw Auto Centre offers the most trusted full-service auto repairs and maintenance in GTA. Our services span everything from small scratches to major accident damage repairs, and the damaged motor vehicle structures and body parts repairs and replacement. In addition, we also provide a thorough inspection of the vehicle to ensure the safety, reliability, comfort and longevity of the vehicle.
We are currently seeking an extremely knowledgeable and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee our purchasing activities from China.
As a full-time （35 Hrs/Week）, permanent Procurement Manager, you will be required to:
Work with the Managers and Directors closely, and create the budget for the operation;
Create the Centre’s purchasing policy and strategy for the auto repair parts and tools (such as battery charger and jumper, headlight assembly, shock absorber, etc.), maintenance equipment and materials (such as Tire changer and wheel balancer machine, motor oil, etc.), and new technologies of repairs from China;
Interact closely with the technical teams, analyzing and evaluating replacement auto parts, materials and components, etc, researching and identifying the most suitable vendors and distributors in China, and ensuring products meet the exact specifications required by the customers;
Work closely with management and the technical team to proactively forecast demand for services and products, and maintain and update inventory records;
Negotiate all terms of purchasing contracts and agreement with suppliers and distributors from China, and deal with any issues that arise;
Supervise staff engaged in logistics and confirm the quality and timeliness of delivered items;
Develop and maintain solid relationships with suppliers in China, stay informed and analyze price and supply trends;
Attend conference, trade shows and other events on behalf of the company to identify the best price and products on the market.
Requirements for the Position:
A bachelor’s degree is required;
A minimum of five years of experience and management in purchasing and sourcing materials, components and system in China, within the auto repair, manufacturing and/or construction industry;
A minimum of five years of experience in analyzing and identifying manufacturers and distributors, negotiating and administering purchasing contracts, creating and implementing purchasing procedures and creating purchasing budgets;
Solid knowledge and relationships with manufacturers and distributors in China;
Proven track record of identifying and validating Chinese suppliers for pricing, quality and other factors;
Strong negotiation skills, able to acquire and maintain long-term sourcing relationships;
Excellent writing and oral communication skills in Mandarin;
