About the role:
We are looking for a highly motivated leading individual who could set up and operate a variety of machine tools to cut, grind and sharpen metal and other materials to make or modify parts or products used in our business with precise dimensions. He will inspect machined parts and tooling in order to maintain quality control standards.
A candidate with hands-on experience with Machines and Tools used for Rotary die and metal blade sharpening will be directly involved with the machinery that requires very specific machinery experience and operating in all stages including but not limited to operating and setup multi-purpose machinery to produce metal parts and products, sharpening of rotary dies, maintenance, and quality control. The successful candidate will lead his team and work closely with other team members and in a highly demanding environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Read, interpret and study machines and sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations
•Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
•Set up, operate and maintain machine and machine tools including computer based or manual machining operations such as precision grinding, sharpening, cutting, welding and other operations
•Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools
•Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
•Set up and program machine tools for use by machining tool operators
•Verify dimensions of machined parts or tooling and conduct maintenance
•Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring and slitting and sharpening instruments such as dial indicators, gauges, height gauges and other measuring devices
•Report and handle deviations from specifications and tolerances
•Complete and maintain inspection reports.
•Fit and assemble components and machines using hand and power tools
•Check machines and products for correct specifications and quality
•Knowledge of Sharpening Rotary Dies, slitting wheels operate lathe, cylindrical grinder and micro spot-welding machine is an asset

Specific Skills:

Operate or tend automatic or multi-purpose machines to produce metal parts and metal products, check machines and products for quality and other specifications

Education:

Secondary (high) school education certificate

Experience:

1-3 years of experience required
Minimum 2 years of experience in Sharpening Rotary Die for pressure sensitive label industry
1-3 years of experience dealing with Machines and/or tools and die making
Required 1-2 years of experience who could set up and operate a variety of machine tools to cut, grind and sharpen metal and other materials
Experience with multi-purpose metal works machines required
Knowledge to operate lathe, cylindrical grinder and micro spot-welding machine will be considered as an asset
Experience of handling machinery and tools dealing with Sharpening Rotary Dies, metal blades and slitting wheels will be considered as an asset
