Paradise Island Foods Inc is a family-owned food production company based out of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Since 1978 Paradise Island Cheese prides itself in providing all natural and organic cheese varieties, as well as an extensive line of bakery, foodservice and industrial cheese varieties. In facility we now run 3 production lines that cut, slice, shred and packages natural cheeses and manufacture cheese alternatives/processed cheese.
We have strived to reduce demands on our existing staff while increasing our capacity and even potentially be in a position to look to grow our business and improve our workplace well-being and culture. We are now in search for competent individuals experienced in working on a cheese production line at rotating stations.
Main Duties:
· Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials
· Assist process control and run assorted equipment (slicer, shredder, etc)
· Monitor labeling and packaging quality and intervene as needed
· Feed and unload food, beverage and associated products processing machines
· Manually box finished goods into bags, boxes or other containers
· Handle/palletize finished cases
· Clean work areas and equipment
Employment Requirements:
· Completion of secondary school
· Minimum 1 year of experience in food and beverage processing or a combination of experience and some secondary school education in related field
· Physically capable of performing repetitive work
· Must physically be able to: lift up and carry objects weighting up to 19 kg (including pushing equipment), stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, bend, twist, and push
