Varsteel Ltd. is the largest distributor and processor of carbon and alloy steel products in British Columbia. We’re looking for an energetic, customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to join our Delta branch team.
If you bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn, we can teach you the rest. Experience in steel or manufacturing is an asset — but what matters most is enthusiasm, common sense, and the ability to work well with others in a busy, team-oriented environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Branch and Sales Managers, the Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in daily branch operations — managing customer relationships, preparing quotes, entering orders, and supporting our sales efforts.
You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team inside a large, active distribution facility serving customers across BC.
Starting salary of $65,000 to $80,000 per year pending experience
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
• Act as the primary internal contact for an established customer base (phone and email)
• Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
• Proactively follow up on quotes and orders to maximize closing opportunities
Sales Execution & Support
• Prepare accurate quotes and process orders promptly
• Collaborate with Outside Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Logistics to ensure smooth order fulfillment
• Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to existing customers
What You’ll Bring
• A customer-first attitude and friendly, professional approach
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A willingness to learn product knowledge (steel products and services)
• 2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or related roles (manufacturing, construction, or distribution preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools
