Currently, we are looking to hire a professional Truck and Trailer Repairer for a full-time, permanent position. The ideal candidate will be able to perform emergency breakdown repairs as well as scheduled maintenance and improvements to keep our clients’ trucks and trailers moving forward efficiently and safely.
Be able to perform emergency repairs responding to our clients’ breakdown emergency calls (engine, air brakes, electrical, wheel-end, driveline diagnostics and repairs)
Develop and Perform required repairs and scheduled maintenance of trucks, trailers, lift trucks, loaders, and other on-site and off-site equipment
Diagnose faults or malfunctions and inform our clients’ management of extent and possible costs of repair
First point of contact on all equipment-related issues, both on-site and off-site
Perform maintenance of engines and various other equipment parts, including adjusting and replacing components, as per customers’ requirements
Conduct weekly inspection and repair of all faulty equipment, including on-site and off-site maintenance, if needed
Perform quality assurance or equipment testing of fixed equipment to minimize lapses which can lead to slowed production and exuberant costs
Maintain inventory of working tools and suggest improvements and/or changes to the clients’ management
Complete test and maintenance reports;
May train apprentices and sub-contractors or other less-experienced workers
Secondary school diploma.
2+ years of experience in Truck and Trailer repairs and maintenance;
Familiarity working with commercial transport truck systems: different engines and motors, breaks, hydraulics specifications, wheel-end, and driveline;
English verbal and written (Required)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full-time, permanent position consisting of at least 35 weekly work hours
The remuneration will be set at CAD 25.70 per hour
Overtime may be required for meeting critical deadlines. Overtime pay will apply after 44 hours of work per week and will be remunerated at one and a half time the regular pay rate
WSIB coverage will be provided
Work Location is: various locations throughout Toronto and the GTA
You will be expected to travel continuously
