KITCHEN HELPER

Established in 2002, Yummy Market is the destination for a European food experience in the GTA. In addition to a wide selection of fresh local and imported products, we cook and bake from scratch in-store according to European tradition. Our wholesome prepared dishes, artisan breads, cakes, and pastries are based on centuries-old recipes. Our world product assortment is the largest in the GTA, attracting customers from near and far. And our Associates speak 20+ languages to serve our customers better.

THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are currently looking for TWO KITCHEN HELPERS to provide indispensable support to the Kitchen and Culinary Departments at our Maple location (1390 Major Mackenzie Drive, Maple, ON)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Wash and peel fruits and vegetables using manual or electric appliances
• Ensure work areas are clean by washing and sanitizing work tables, appliances, equipment, utensils, and dishware
• Place dishes, pans, trays, and kitchen tools in their place
• Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas
• Take out the garbage, replace garbage bags, and clean kitchen garbage containers
• Mop and sweep the kitchen floors
• Perform other duties to assist cooks and kitchen staff
• Follow company, store, and department policies at all times
• Ensure strict adherence to Health and Safety Regulations at all time

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Secondary School Diploma will be an asset
• Good English language skills
• Good communication and listening skills
• Willingness to work with others and respond quickly to change
• Previous kitchen experience is an asset

COMPENSATION AND CONDITIONS:
• Full-time, permanent position
• Compensation will be $16.50 per hour for a 40-hour work week
• Overtime is occasionally required and will be paid accordingly. Employees must ready to work shifts, which include evenings and occasional weekends and some holidays (appropriate pay rates will apply)
