Maple City Veterinary Professional Corporation is looking for a Veterinarian to provide veterinary services to its clients at the following hospital locations: Prescott Animal Hospital located at 2725 Edward Street North, Prescott, Ontario; Kemptville Animal Hospital, 4 Industrial Road, Unit 5, Kemptville, Ontario; and Grenville Dundas Veterinary Clinic, 2643 County Road 43, Kemptville, Ontario. This is a full-time permanent position, based on a 36-hour work week. Further details of the position are below.

Wage: CAD $95,000 per annum

Number of Positions: One (1)

Permanent full time (36hrs/week) position

Required Language Skills: English (spoken and written)

Key Responsibilities:

• Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with, their concerns.
• Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental and urgent care procedures on pets that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
• Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs and prescribe medications.
• Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain that all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
• Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat disease.
• Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
• Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.

Required Skills:

• Licensure in good standing to practice or be eligible to be licensed in the province in which applicant is to be employed.
• Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
• Works collaboratively with hospital team members.
• Makes decisions confidently and effectively.
• Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.

Required Education:

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or a four-to-five-year university degree in veterinary medicine.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Wage: CAD $95,000 per annum
• Vacation: 12 days per annum
• Benefits: extended medical, paramedical services, vision care, dental, employer-provided pension, and RRSP matching
• Other: production compensation per company policy, relocation allowance, personal/sick days up to 4 days, continuing education (eligible for 4 days per calendar year and allowance), professional membership dues, assistance for immigration application if required
