Nanny

We’re looking for a nanny to provide in-home childcare to our 7-year-old (soon to be 8-year old) son.

You will be working out of two different homes located in Etobicoke (Toronto), Ontario. Both homes are located in the “Edenbridge-Humber Valley” region.

This is a permanent, full-time position, based on 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime.

Position

You will be responsible for providing a safe, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which our son can continue to grow and develop.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supervising and caring for child in both primary and secondary homes;
• Assuming full responsibility for child’s physical and emotional well-being in absence of parents, and at all times while under your care;
• Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for the child;
• Ensuring child maintains personal hygiene;
• Tending to the emotional well-being of child and supporting their social development;
• Disciplining child according to the methods requested by parents;
• Planning age-appropriate activities that will support the child’s overall development, including cognitive, language/speech, social, emotional, and motor skills;
• Overseeing child’s school-related and extracurricular activities;
• Preparing and serving nutritious meals; and
• Providing light housekeeping for the child.

Requirements

We’re looking for a nanny (in-home caregiver) who can meet all of the following requirements:

• Successful completion of secondary school.
• At least five (5) years of full-time, paid in-home childcare experience, including at least 1 year of continuous employment with the same employer.
• Able to communicate and write in English.
• Willing to work at out two different homes.
• Willing to travel with family and assist with child supervision (expenses paid by employer).
• Able to work various shifts, including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends, with frequent variations to the schedule.

References required.

Compensation

We offer a generous compensation package, which includes:

• $28.50 per hour, based on 40 hours per week ($42.75 per hour after 44 hours per week).
• 10 days of paid vacation per year.
• WSIB benefits.
• Private health care insurance coverage for out of province applicants equal to the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) until such a time that the applicant is eligible for OHIP.
• Roundtrip transportation costs for out of province applicants.
