DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS:

Rei Dos Leitões Bar & Grill (known as KING OF THE PIGS) is a traditional and authentic Portuguese restaurant specializing in BBQ and other Portuguese cuisine.

Title of the Position: Cook (NOC 63200)

Terms:
• Terms of employment: Full-time and Permanent
• Wage: $19.00 per hour

• Hours: 35 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES:
• Prepare and cook full-course meals, specializing in Portuguese-style BBQ chicken, Brazilian homemade food, Chouriço meat dishes, fish, seafood rice, soups, and other regional-specific dishes.
• Planning menus, determining the size of food portions, estimating food requirements and costs, and monitoring and ordering supplies.
• Setting up and stocking their station with necessary ingredients and equipment.
• Assisting with the development and testing of new menu items.
• Cleaning and maintaining their work area and equipment.
• Maintaining inventory and records of food and supplies.
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers.
• Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Occasionally assisting with food preparation and production in other areas of the kitchen as needed.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Daily, weekly & monthly reporting to Owner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. A professional Cook Course Certificate is a great asset.
• Experience: 1 ~ 2 years of professional cooking experience in Portuguese and Brazilian homemade food cuisine are required. Experience in international cuisine, including Italian or related work experience and multicultural experience are great assets.
• Language of work: English
• Credentials: N/A
• Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Working under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Overtime required, Physically demanding.
• Cuisine Specialties: Portuguese, Brazilian, International.
