You can post a new ad by clicking the yellow Post Ad button in the top-right corner of the site.
All ads run for 90 days. You'll receive a reminder email 3 days before your ad expires (and another 1 day before), with instructions for renewing it should you choose to.
Ads can be renewed using the Renew button in your account section. The Renew button appears on cancelled or expired ads, and on currently running ads starting 7 days before they expire.
We'll also remind you by email 3 days and 1 day before expiry.
Log in to your account section with your email address and password, and a list of all your placed ads will appear. (Haven't created an account yet? Sign up here — just be sure to use the same email address your listings were posted under.)
Find the ad you'd like to modify (ads are sorted by date, most recent first) and click the Modify button at the bottom of the panel. You can update the category, title, description, photos, and any other information.
A few things to keep in mind:
Log in to your account section and click Modify. You can then choose a new category from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Log in to your account section and click the Cancel button next to the relevant ad.
Haven't created an account yet? Sign up here — please use the same email address your listings were posted under.
At this time, each ad can be posted in one category. You're welcome to repost your ad manually in as many relevant categories as you'd like.
You can post your ad in a single location, or use the All Locations feature (a paid option) to post it everywhere at once.
Please note: duplicate ads posted manually in more than one location (without the All Locations feature) will be rejected. This is because repeated ads show up multiple times for users browsing with a large proximity setting (for example, 50 or 100 kilometers).
You can generate your own Proof of Run letter from your account section. Log in with your email address and password to see a list of all your placed ads. (Haven't created an account yet? Sign up here using the same email address your listings were posted under.)
Find the ad you need the letter for (ads are sorted by date, most recent first) and click the Proof of Run button at the bottom of the panel. Enter your company name in the prompt that appears, and a PDF letter will download.
Please contact us so we can resolve this. Be sure to include the ad number listed on your ad, along with your email address.
Ads are rejected if they fall out of line with our standards, or if there's a suspicion of fraud. Because there are many subtleties to our moderation decisions, please feel free to contact us for more information.
We also reject ads posted manually in more than one location (without the All Locations feature), since repeated ads show up multiple times for users browsing with a large proximity setting (for example, 50 or 100 kilometers).
When your Top Ad is submitted, it's placed at the very top of its category. As more Top Ads are placed, older ones move down the list — but they'll always appear before the free ads.
Note that Top Ads only appear at the top in the location they were submitted to. For example, a Top Ad in Calgary won't be shown to users who set their location to Ottawa.
The featured section has six spaces at the top of every category page. If a category has more than six featured ads, our system randomly displays six of them each time the page loads. This keeps your ad from getting lost in an abundance of featured ads, and gives readers a better experience.
Unlike Top Ads, all featured ads are shown with the same frequency — whereas Top Ads move down the list as new ones are placed.
The homepage featured section has six spaces on the AllStarJobs.ca homepage. If there are more than six featured ads at any given time, our system randomly displays six to fill those spaces each time the homepage loads. This keeps your ad from getting lost in an abundance of featured ads, and gives readers a better experience.
Even after setting your location and proximity, you may see ads from other cities — sometimes even other provinces or countries. This happens because of the All Locations feature, which lets posters list their ad in every city regardless of its actual location.
If you'd rather browse a specific area only, change the sort option to Distance. This sorts listings so the ones physically closest to you appear first, before the all-location listings. (Note: all-location Top listings will still appear before local free listings.)
