Long Haul Truck Driver

Apna Y Xpress Ltd. (corporate office address: 12167–125A Street, Surrey, BC, V3V 8C5) required 5 permanent and full-time Class One long-haul truck drivers.

Company Driver Pay Scales:
Company Driver Base Pay (CLASS 1) $38.40/hr
Overtime is paid for any work done over 60 hours in a week
Mileage Paid on Practical, not Shortest

Company Driver Requirements:
Class 1 License W/Air Brake Endorsement is required.
Though on-the-job training will be provided, 1-2 years of experience as a truck driver is an asset. However, a clean driving abstract is mandatory.
Completion of secondary school is an asset.

Language: Functional English/CLB Level 4 (Canadian Language Benchmark Level 4 is required as per ICBC requirement)

Duties:

• Safely operate and drive long -haul trucks across routes in Canada & USA.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in all customer interactions
• Operate as part of a two-person team or in a convoy when required
• Load and unload cargo efficiently and safely
• Drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Monitor vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, refrigeration units, and other equipment
• Carry out brake adjustments as needed
• Handle emergency roadside repairs when necessary
• Conduct thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
• Perform routine preventive maintenance
• Communicate effectively with central dispatch to receive and relay information
• Keep accurate records of cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel usage
• Secure and tarp cargo to ensure its safety and protection during transport
